DBX 160SL stereo compressor
The V8 is the heart of the 160SL, surrounded by high output passive Jensen transformers on the outputs, making it capable of driving 1000 feet of Belden cable at almost unmeasureable distortion figures. A double shielded Toroid power supply and a very tight tolerance on the selection of all parts serve to make the 160SL a superior performer. The 160SL also has all the front panel features that make any compressor a winner: True RMS Power Summing, two different limiter topologies, including the new patent-pending PeakStopPlus, switchable Auto/manual attack and release characteristics with a dual manual mode called AutoVelocity Dynamics, making the 160SL sound exactly like the old 160, the 165/165A, or somewhere (or even nowhere) in between. Large custom VU meters and a striking blue power LED round out the generous package, giving the 160SL great client appeal, both aurally and visually.

DBX 162SL Stereo Compressor/Limiter with AutoVelocity
The same familiar striking front panel, machined from 1/4" aircraft aluminum, handcrafted solid aluminum knobs, LEDs mounted individually in machined stainless steel housings, custom VU meters with peak indicators, and heavy gauge chassis mark the 162SL as a leader for decades to come. The 162SL combines the best features of all the great dbx compressors, past and present, and gives you more versatile performance than ever before. In addition to having the auto attack and release as well as the hard knee threshold characteristics of the classic dbx 160, the 162SL offers AutoVelocity™ manual mode, in addition to our classic dbx OverEasy® mode, made standard by the legendary dbx 165A. And speaking of the 165A, all of its features, including variable attack and release controls, as well as dbx's latest limiting algorithm PeakStopPlus™, are included in the 162SL.

DBX 704X optional 96kHz digital output system
The 704 is an A/D converter with a twist: the process of conversion, (using nothing but the most up-to-date, high quality parts, mounted on modular cards for easy upgrading,) offers The TYPE IV Conversion system as part of the convesion process. The TYPE IV process captures the desirable overdrive and saturation characteristics of the analog world and combines it with the superior dynamic range and noise spec of the digital conversion process. The extensive software operating system features time stam/history functions, 24-bit output, 3 simultaneous AES/EBU outputs as well as S/PDIF, TDIF and Optical outputs. Great for mastering your most precious projects, it offers custom dithering, EQ and noise shaping as well.

The IEM was designed with the simple purpose and vision of enhancing the sonic quality of all In-Ear monitor applications, while providing the necessary audio level protection that artists and engineers require. The design team at dbx has achieved this vision by building a unit that offers effects including: 4-band stereo compressor with gating and limiting, 5-Band Parametric EQ, PeakStop™ limiting, Stereo adjust and Lexicon® reverbs. In addition to methodically designing a utilitarian unit that includes an intuitive user front panel which provides instant access to all effects within the IEM at the push of a button, as well as a large custom display which clearly shows all operational information of the unit in a logical manner.
